About Burbank Community Federal Credit Union

Burbank Community Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1940 by the Burbank Teachers Association to help teachers live a healthy, stable and rewarding financial life. Today, the Credit Union has expanded its field-of-membership, and now offers membership and financial services to anyone who lives, works, goes to school, worships, volunteers, or belongs to an association in the City of Burbank.

Joining Burbank Community Federal Credit Union is easy. To become a member, you must pay a one-time membership fee of $5 and complete a membership application. In addition, you must open a Savings Account with a minimum $5 deposit. With our "Once a Member, Always a Member" policy, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of Burbank Community Federal Credit Union for the rest of your life, even if you move, change professions or retire.

Burbank Community FCU Student Credit Union

Since 1974, Burbank Community Federal Credit Union has partnered with the Burbank Unified School District to create two student-run Credit Union branches at John Burroughs High School and Burbank High School.

These Student Credit Unions provide students with hands-on experience as they serve their fellow students. Students on the campuses can use the on-campus branch to open a membership, make deposits and withdraw small amounts of money for lunch and other school expenses. Students may also apply for loans and credit cards, and get financial advice from our Financial Education Representative.

Every school year the Credit Union hires Student Credit Union volunteers to help run the Student Credit Union. The students are under the supervision of a Credit Union Financial Education Representative and a liaison from the school. The Student Credit Union volunteers learn about Credit Union products and services, promote the benefits of membership to their peers, run the day-to-day operations of the Student Credit Union, and receive Volunteer Achievement Scholarships towards furthering their education for their commitment and service.
